Slippers in the pumpkin patch

Morning Journal/Patti Schaeffer

Thanks to the generosity of Tom and Karen Sapp and John Gross of New Waterford, Barrie Archer and Judy Fannin of The Lady Slippers and their helpers, Gina Chaplow and Alexis Dowding, found themselves traipsing through a muddy pumpkin patch at the Sapp farm on state Route 7 collecting pumpkins for the The Lady Slippers Arts Festival from 11a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday at the East Liverpool Country Club. It will feature art and handmade items for sale along with a Chinese auction with the proceeds going to Museum of Ceramics. Admission is free and open to the public with lunch available to purchase. This is the fourth year for the event.
