Sorry, I've neglected to keep you updated on the kitchen renovation. I'm happy to announce, IT'S DONE! Actually, it has been done for more than a month. It was done in plenty of time for Thanksgiving. Getting used to the new stove has been tricky. It's an electric range with a smooth cooktop. I'm always turning on the wrong burner! In addition to the standard oven it also has a convection oven, but I haven't been brave enough to try it. The directions say to lower the baking temperature required for a recipe by 25 degrees and always bake the item the least amount of time. For example, if a recipe has a baking time of 15 to 20 minutes, go with the 15. Anyone out there have any tips for using one of these? I was excited to finally have a dishwasher (besides my hubby), but I've only used it four times since the installation. It's nice to know that it's there if I need it. The kitchen is gorgeous and bigger. It was widened by 2 feet, but I swear it seems to be longer, too. Bill Martin and Kenny Crowl of Martin's Home Improvement did an excellent job. It turned out more beautiful than I had anticipated and they completed it in just five weeks — not bad since it was a big project. Check out the new pictures. I'm sure I'll be cooking up a storm and posting new recipes soon from my new and improved kitchen.
