Garcon signs with Colts
INDIANAPOLIS — Former Mount Union College receiver Pierre Garcon became the first of the Indianapolis Colts’ nine draft picks to sign on Tuesday. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Garcon was a sixth-round pick and 205th overall in the April draft. In three seasons at NCAA Division III national power Mount Union, Garcon totaled 202 receptions and set the Ohio Athletic Conference career record with 47 touchdown catches. The Colts also appear close to an agreement with their top pick, offensive lineman Mike Pollak, who was taken late in the second round. ‘‘Things are going smoothly and we expect him to be in camp on time,’’ said Ken Zuckerman, Pollak’s agent. Colts head coach Tony Dungy anticipates a rash of rookie signings before Thursday’s midafternoon reporting deadline.
