Liverpool should give Lamb’s House a chance
The Lamb’s House Ministry’s plan to open a counseling center in the former Elks Lodge in East Liverpool has met with some opposition. Mark Altomare of Leetonia, a recovering alcoholic, began work last week to renovate the empty lodge building. In addition to counseling substance abusers, Altomare has some very ambitious plans which include using the huge hall on the first floor as a banquet room to feed the needy and as a room for youth activities. Anyone who doesn’t know that our country has a drug and alcohol abuse problem has been living with their head buried in the sand. Just by glancing at the police reports in this newspaper you can see the toll this substance abuse is taking on our county, especially in East Liverpool.
