Motorcycle crashes, ELO woman killed

HOPEWELL TOWNSHIP, Pa. — An East Liverpool woman was killed early Wednesday after she was thrown from a motorcycle she was riding.
Kathryn Shafer, 59, was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:30 a.m. Shafer was a passenger on the motorcycle being driven by Daniel L. Shafer, 58.
Daniel Shafer lost control of the motorcycle while southbound on the Beaver Valley Expressway, causing it to roll, according to reports.
Daniel Shafer was also thrown from the motorcycle. He was flown to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital where he is in critical condition.
