EAST LIVERPOOL - Maria N. Beatty became the bride of Luke N. Adams in a 2 p.m. Nov. 15, 2008 double-ring ceremony at St. Aloysius Church. The ceremony was performed by Father Bernie Gaeta.
The bride is the daughter of the late Gerri Brophey-Postich and was raised by her grandparents Tom and Dolly Brophey, Wellsville. She is also the step-daughter of Sandy Beatty, East Liverpool.
The groom is the son of Timothy and Nancy Adams, Hudson.

Escorted by her grandfather and given in marriage by her grandparents, the bride wore a full lace, crystal beaded, strapless, A-line corset back gown, with a edged scalloped lace and sprinkled crystal cathedral length train. The empire waist was enhanced with a pale pink velvet ribbon bow and streamers, accented with a beaded brooch. A beaded tiara secured a fingertip veil edged in crystals. She carried a bouquet of pink and white roses, baby's breath, and green antherium.
In brown taffeta gowns were attendants Amanda Adkins, Christina Adams, sister of the groom, and Jamie Atwood.
Dan Wilson served as best man. Groomsmen were Matt Beatty, brother of the bride, and Doug Wilson.
Readings were given by Tom Brophey Jr., uncle of the bride, and Rev. Jay Palasky, uncle of the groom. Joe O'Lesky served as organist, while Irma Amato, aunt of the bride, was the vocalist. A reception for 250 guests was held at the east Liverpool Motor Lodge.
The bride is a 2003 graduate of Wellsville High School and a 2008 cum laude graduate of Kent State with a bachelor's in special education. She is employed as a junior and senior special education teacher at Ashland County, West Holmes Career Center.
The groom is a 2000 graduate of Hudson High School and a 2008 graduate of Kent State with a bachelor's in business management. He is employed as an office manager for Med Speed, Elyria.
The couple reside in New London.
