Golden year for Lisbon couple

LISBON - Mr. and Mrs. Joseph E. Chapman Jr. will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 13.

The former Kay Evans, daughter of the late Hughie and Helen (Donnalley) Evans, Guilford Lake; became the bride of Joe Chapman, son of the late J. Edgar and Marie (Wallace) Chapman, Lisbon; on Aug. 13, 1960 at the First United Methodist Church.

Mr. and Mrs. Chapman have resided in the Lisbon area all their lives, except during Mr. Chapman's service in the U.S. Army from 1960-1966 at which time they lived in Fort Benning, Ga., and in Germany.

Mr. Chapman graduated from David Anderson High School in 1960, and retired from the Farmers's National Bank in January 2008. She enjoys fishing.

Mrs. Chapman graduated from Beaver Local High School in 1960, and retired from 1st National Community Bank in 2008. She enjoys puzzles, reading, and fishing.

The couple have two sons, Jeffery (Kimberly) Chapman, Salem; and Justin (Shannon) Chapman, Palm Harbor, Fla., and five grandchildren.

The Chapmans are holding a card shower and cards are to be sent to 21 Garfield St., Lisbon, Ohio 44432.
