Pushaks celebrate golden year

COLUMBIANA - John and Barbara Pushak, Apache Lane, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on April 20. The couple were given a weekend stay at the Oglebay Resort, Wheeling, W.Va. by their children.

The former Barbara Thomas, daughter of Ann and Tim Thomas, married John Pushak, son of Ann and Frank Pushak, on April 20, 1961 at the St. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church. The Rev. Basil Gumowsky performed the ceremony.

Mr. Pushak served four years in the U.S. Navy and worked for LTV Steel Company for 41 years. During that time he spent 12 years as a millwright and 29 years as a mechanical maintenance supervisor.

Mrs. Pushak is a homemaker.

They are members of St. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church and the Knox Antique Auto, Engine, and Tractor Association.

The couple has two sons: Ted (Janine) Pushak, Cortland; and Bill Pushak, Dickison, Texas. They also have two grandchildren.
