If you're looking for something to do this weekend, Columbiana County is the place to be.
We have fairs, festivals, reunions and yard sales going on from one end of the county to the other.
The 166th Columbiana County Fair kicked off Monday and has been going strong all week. Plenty of attractions and good weather has helped the fair exceed average attendance numbers by 400 to 500 people.
Today's lineup at the county fairgrounds in Lisbon includes an open draft horse hitch judging at 9 a.m. and the "Saturday Night Pull-off" track and tractor pull at 6 p.m. in the grandstands.
On Sunday the fair will open with a draft horse pull in the grandstands followed by perennial favorites - the bale toss and kiss-a-pig contest - at noon. The combine demo derby will be held at 1 p.m., and the fair will conclude this year's run with a car demolition derby in the grandstands at 6:30 p.m.
If Italian food and entertainment is your thing, you need to head down to Wellsville for the annual Italian Fest. There will be plenty of Italian music and dancing in the streets, as well as games and delicious Italian food.
For East Palestine High School alumni, the All-Alumni Reunion continues today in City Park. Indoor and outdoor game winners will be awarded prizes and a dinner and a roast will be featured this evening.
Continuing through Sunday is the annual Buy-Way yard sale being hosted by residents and businesses along U.S. Route 30. Communities involved include Lisbon, East Liverpool and Minerva, as well as Chester and Newell in West Virginia.
If you can't find something to do this weekend in our area, you have no one to blame but yourself.
