Golden year for Liverpool couple

EAST LIVERPOOL - Tom and Gilda Mansfield celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on July 9 with an open house hosted by their family at the Northside Community Church. Family and friends attended from Ohio, Pennsylvania, Illinois and Texas.

The former Gilda Davis married Tom Mansfield on June 17, 1961 at the Chester Nazarene Church. The Rev. Robert Thomas officiated. Sue McCormick Marshall, Wayne, Mich.; served as maid of honor and Michael McKinnon, Greensboro, N.C., nephew of Mr. Mansfield was best man. Wedding party attendants who attended their open house were Vivian (Holland) Richmond, Chester, W.Va.; Gayle L. Davis, Cuyahoga Falls; and Bruce Davis, Bourbonnais, Ill.

Mr. Mansfield is a graduate of Geneva College and is retired from Crucible Steel where he was employed in the cost accounting department.

Mrs. Mansfield is retired from Bank One and she is also retired from the First National Community Bank. She also serves as chaplain of Southwick-Griscom-Kinney Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution.

They are members of the Chester Nazarene Church.
