Colers celebrate golden year

LEETONIA - Mr. and Mrs. Loren Coler celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Nov. 18.

The former Ruth Ann Myers became the bride of Loren R. Coler on Nov. 18, 1961 at the Evangelical United Brethren Church in New Springfield, officiated by Rev. William A. Seith.

Mr. Coler served in the U.S. Army from 1961-63 with a tour in Korea. He retired from the Heat and Frost Insulators Local No. 35 in 1992 after 30 years. Loren is an entertainer, singing for many different clubs, assisted living residences and nursing homes.

Mrs. Coler retired from South Range Schools in 1986 as a bus driver.

The couple have two sons, Bill Coler and his wife Meri, North Lima and the late Rob Coler and his wife Lori, Columbiana and four grandchildren.

A celebration open house in their honor was held at the old South Range High School on Nov. 19. Dinner and dancing was enjoyed by 150 family and friends.
