Golden year for Salem couple

SALEM - Mr. and Mrs. Wayne and Betty Herron, Salem, will be honored for their 50th anniversary with an open house, hosted by their family, scheduled from 2-4 p.m. June 24 at the Salem Golf Club, South Lincoln Avenue. The couple request gifts be omitted.

The former Betty Weaver, daughter of Arland and Ruth Weaver, married Wayne Herron, son of Carol and Hazel Herron, on June 24, 1962. Rev. Ray Patterson of Phillips Christian Church officiated.

Mr. Herron is a self-employed dairy and grain farmer. He also retired as a Butler Township Trustee.

Mrs. Herron, a certified decorative arts, taught decorative art.

They are both active members of the Winona Methodist Church.

The couple have three children, Cindy (Dr. Anthony) Christani, Sebring; Rodney (Chris) Herron and Tim (Emily) Herron, both of Salem; and nine grandchildren.
