SALEM - Emmanuel Lutheran Church was the setting for the July 16, 2011 wedding of Melanie Sue Drotleff to Michael R. T. Hughes.
The bride is the daughter of Tom and Sue Drotleff, Salem.
The groom is the son of Audrey Hughes, Kannapolis, N.C.; and the late Robert Hughes.

The Rev. Alan Smearsoll officiated the ceremony. Music was provided by Ila Jeanne Paxson, organist, and soloist, Vince Ward, uncle of the bride.
The wore a diamond white strapless, A-line wedding gown with corset back closure, featuring a satin bodice with Chantilly lace motifs accented with sparkling lace and iridescent and pewter beading. A jeweled tiara secured her elbow length veil fashioned with iridescent crystal. She carried a bouquet of hand-tied hot lady roses accented with white tulle ribbon with fuchsia edging.
Kristen Kuntzman, Boardman, served as maid of honor and Kari Drotleff, sister-in-law of the bride, Fraser, Mich., served as matron of honor in strapless fuchsia cocktail length dresses. In matching dresses were bridesmaids Ashley Kohler, Boardman; and Ashley Bourdeau Durham, Madison.
Performing the duties of best man was Rodger Hughes, brother of the groom, Mt. Pleasant, N.C. Groomsmen were Brian Hughes, brother of the groom, Kannapolis, N.C.; Mark Drotleff, brother of the bride, Fraser, Mich.; and Tom Drotleff, father of the bride.
A reception for approximately 150 guests was held at the Dutch Village Inn in Columbiana.
The bride teaches seventh grade language arts at Ridge Road Middle School, Concord, N.C.
The groom is an infrastructure and engineering manager with Sonic Automotive, Charlotte, N.C.
The couple resides in Concord, N.C.
