Golden year for Salem couple

SALEM - Larry D. and Carol E. Messer, Salem, celebrated their 50th anniversary at a family gathering.

The former Carol E. John, daughter of Roland and Gladys John, married Larry Messer, son of Homer and Anniece Messer, on July 15, 1962, at the Winona Methodist Church. The Rev. Frank Tully performed the ceremony.

Mr. Messer retired as a supervisor from Columbia Gas of Ohio.

Mrs. Messer retired as a secretary to the superintendent from the United Local Schools.

The couple have three children, Gregory B. (Sherry Wright) Messer, Clinton; Michael T. (Kimberly Justice) Messer, Canton; and Pamela L. (Donald) Cannon, Winona; five grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter.
