Carol L. Mellington, age 74, formerly of Longs Church Road, Calcutta, passed away at the Calcutta Health Care on Saturday, November 3, 2012, after a lengthy illness.
The daughter of the late John E. and Dorothy (Wile) Huston, she was born in Negley, Ohio on June 11, 1938 and lived her entire life in this area. She was employed as a School Bus Driver for Beaver Local School District, retiring in 2000 after 23 years of service, a graduate of New Waterford High School in 1956, and a member of the Mount Zion United Methodist Church where she was an active member of the choir and belonged to the WSCS at the church.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Walter "Bud" Mellington on December 7, 2008, they were married on June 1, 1956.
Survivors include two sons, Mark Mellington and his wife, Terrie, of Lisbon, Oh., Scott Mellington and his wife Gayle, of Holmen, Wisconsin, one daughter, Lana Neville, and her husband, Bill, also of Lisbon, Ohio and a brother, William Huston and his wife, Lucille of Idaho. Two grandchildren, Mike Mellington and his wife, Tina, and Jessica Kiehl and her husband, Danny, and three great grandchildren, Taylor and Austin Mellington and Sydni Kiehl all of Lisbon, Ohio..
In addition to her parents and husband, Carol, was preceded in death by a brother, John Huston and a sister, Carol L. Huston.
Services will be held on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at 1:30 PM at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes with Pastor James Rhodes of the church officiating. Burial will follow at Kimble Cemetery in Elkton.
Friends may call at the funeral home in Calcutta on Tuesday from 4 to 8 PM.
