SALEM - Helen Loraine (Skidmore) Webb 86, of Salem, died at 10:00 AM Saturday, November 10, 2012 at the Blossom Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

The family wishes to thank the caring staff of Blossom for the love and kindness they extended to Helen. They were there to give comfort and support at the most difficult time for the family.

Helen will be missed by many, but will never be forgotten. The people she met over the years at Pop Jackson's Restaurant where she worked for 25 years until her retirement in 2001. She enjoyed her family and spent time with them in West Virginia. There were many trips to Atlantic City as well to see the grandchildren. She most definitely enjoyed her puzzles of all sorts, bingo, and most of all baby sitting the grand kids. She became a member of the ladies Red Hat Society after moving to Blossom. She was a member of the Salem First Baptist Church and attended until her health made attending not practical.

She was born on July 23, 1926 in Braxton County, West Virginia to John H. and Arnett V. (Paul) Skidmore. She and her siblings, Phyllis, Eleanor, James and Hazel grew up in West Virginia.

She met the love of her life, Benjamin J. Webb and married on July 28, 1951.

She has been a resident of the area since the early 50's, coming from West Virginia. She and Ben raised their family in the area.

In addition to her parents, Helen is preceded in death on August 13, 1989 by her husband Benjamin, and two siblings, James L. Skidmore and Hazel E. Miller.

Helen and Ben had two wonderful children, David A. (wife Nancy) Webb of Salem and Janet S. Wischerman of Leetonia who survive her, two siblings, Phyllis Roach and Eleanor Miller, both of South Charleston, W. Va., two grandchildren, Jefferson (wife Sarah) Manning and Ashley J. Webb, and one great grand daughter, Kaylee N. Manning.

A service will be held on Wednesday, November 14, 2012, 1 PM at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Claye Folger of the church officiating. The burial will immediately follow at Highland Memorial Park, Beloit, Ohio.

A time of visitation will be held on Tuesday from 6 to 8 Pm and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.

The family had requested that memorials be made in Helens memory to Hospice of the Valley who cared for her during her final days.
