BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -Denny Lee Drummond, 42, formerly of Lisbon, Ohio, died Friday, Dec. 7, in Bakersfield Hospital after battling cancer.
He was born March 17, 1970, the son of Lucille Cusick Drummond and the late Russell Denny Drummond. He grew up in Lisbon and graduated from David Anderson High School in 1988 where he played football.
He joined the Navy in 1989 and served for more than six years. He met and married his wife, Amy, in California and they continued making their home there. In 1998 he graduated from the California Highway Patrol Academy and had a 14-year career in the highway patrol - a job he loved.
He loved camping, motorcycles and sports of all kinds especially the Lisbon Blue Devils and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
In addition to his mother of Lisbon, he is survived by his wife, Amy; two sons, Dakota and Riley; a brother, Richard (Renee) Rupp; nieces, Lacey and Lita; and a nephew, Justin.
A memorial service will be held Jan. 20, 2013 at the Lisbon Nazarene Church.
