EAST PALESTINE - Dorothy M. Hostnik, 92, formerly of Brushville Road, passed away at 2:28 p.m. Sunday at Parkside Health Care Center, where she had resided for the past several years.
Mrs. Hostnik was born Dec. 2, 1920 in Petersburg, a daughter of the late George and Alberta Thompson Allensworth and was a life resident of the area.
She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church and Daughters of the American Revolution.
Her husband, Joe Hostnik, whom she married April 1, 1938, preceded her in death on Feb. 11, 2010. Two sisters, Catherine Horton and Marian Whitehouse, also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her son, Joseph (Mary) Hostnik, East Palestine; two grandchildren, Jackie (Tony) Muraco, East Palestine and Scott (Pennie) Hostnik, Sherrill's Ford, N.C.; and a sister, Edith Young, Poland. Mrs. Hostnik also leaves four great-granddaughters, three great-great-granddaughters, two great-great-grandsons, two step-great-granddaughters, and two step-great-great-grandsons.
A private service will be held at Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home, with Rev. Mark McTrustry, officiating. Burial will follow in Crest Haven Memorial Gardens, New Waterford.
