Morning Journal News

EAST LIVERPOOL Thomas M. "Tom" Fullerton, of State Route 45, Wellsville, passed away at 6:23 p.m. Thursday, August 15, 2013 at the Lifeline Hospital in Wintersville. He was 74.

Born on October 21, 1938 in East Liverpool, he was a son of the late Lois Habenicht Fullerton and Earl "Hap" Fullerton. A 1957 graduate of East Liverpool High School, he remained in this area for the rest of his life. Following high school, Tom served with the U.S. Army and was a member of the VFW Post #66 Auxiliary.

Retired from the Inspection Department at the former Crucible Steel, Tom was happiest when he was busy and productive. He continued working by pressure washing and painting buildings and commercial properties. The owner and operator of Fullerton's Ventilation Cleaning Service and Italo's Pizza in Lisbon at one time, he currently owned Fullerton Rentals.

Though he had many hobbies and interests, he loved antique cars, especially his '57 Chevy and '62 Corvette, and also enjoyed playing golf. For six months of the year, he and his wife, the former Barbara Wolski, resided in Hudson, FL, where he could golf to his heart's content. Tom and Barbara also traveled extensively with the ELHS Class of '57 to places such as Bermuda, Alaska and Rome. Barbara, whom he married on September 12, 1965, survives him at home.

Tom also leaves behind his son, Kevin M. Fullerton, of Wellsville and a sister, Karen Elsohn and her husband, Neil, of Egg Harbor, NJ. Also surviving is a granddaughter, Breanna Ammon, of Myrtle Beach, as well as a sister-in-law, Charlotte Fullerton, of East Liverpool.

Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, was his brother, Terry A. Fullerton.

Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Sunday, where the family will be present from noon to 8 p.m.

Services will be held at the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Monday with Evangelist Will Montgomery of the St. Clair Ave. Church of Christ. Burial will take place at Spring Hill Cemetery, where the Tri-State Veteran's Burial Group will provide full military honors. Friends and family will then gather at the VFW Post #66 for a continued time of fellowship.
