Columbiana Elizabeth "Liz" Ann Bartholow, 89, of Columbiana, went home to be with her Lord at 2:55 p.m. Monday, September 16, 2013 at Hospice House of Poland.

Liz was born March 3, 1924 in Columbiana, a daughter of the late Raymond and Wessie Davis Harrold.

She was a homemaker but had also been employed as an operator for Ohio Bell and as a cook and baker at Das Dutch House, Columbiana. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Columbiana where she was actively involved in the prayer chain and card ministry. Liz had also served as president of the local TOPS Club. She was an avid reader and loved to both cook and bake.

She also enjoyed gardening and making crafts for both her family and friends.

Liz was a very selfless person who always put others before herself. She will be deeply missed by those who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is survived by her husband, Ralph Edward Bartholow, whom she married February 1, 1947; two daughters, Cheryl L. (John) Whitten of Fox River Grove, IL and Nancy A. (James) McKinney of Cranberry Township, PA; a daughter in-law, Debra J. Mullen of Lisbon; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Timothy R. Bartholow and a brother, John D. Harrold.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 20, 2013 at the First Presbyterian Church of Columbiana with the Reverend Carolyn Griffeth officiating. Burial will follow in Locust Grove Baptist Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday and at the church one hour prior to the services on Friday.
