UNITY TOWNSHIP - A Carbon Hill Road woman was killed Thursday morning after losing control of her vehicle on state Route 165.
According to the highway patrol press, Kayla L. McDanel, 25, was southeastbound on state Route 165 near Waterford Road when the vehicle went off the left side of the road, into a ditch and a utility pole and then overturned.
McDanel was pronounced dead at the scene by a county coroner's investigator.
The crash occurred around 8 a.m. and caused the road to be closed for roughly four hours, according to the patrol.
East Palestine firefighters assisted at the scene and Ohio Edison repaired the damaged pole and power lines.
