EAST LIVERPOOL - Winifred "Winnie" Pickin, 93, of Rhovanion Drive, died early Monday morning at her home.
Born at home in Newell, W.Va., on Oct. 25, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Grace Alma Golding Wells and William Edwin Wells, Jr.
She for the Office of Strategic Services, the forerunner to the CIA, in Washington, D.C. during World War II. She was a member of Emmanuel Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by first husband, Richard E. Moninger; her second husband, Robert Crawford; her third husband, William E. "Pick" Pickin, Sr.; a daughter, Ann Elizabeth Moninger; a sister, Elizabeth "Cuzzie" Hall Young; a brother, William E. Wells; two stepdaughters, Barbara Jean Pickin and Barbara Vermillion-Zabel; and a stepson, Jim Vermillion.
Survivors include three stepsons, William E. "Bill" Pickin, Jr. of East Liverpool, Stephen T. Pickin of Newport, R.I, and Dick Vermillion of Houston; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Tanta Luckhardt Hendricks of Emmanuel Presbyterian Church will officiate at a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Riverview Cemetery Chapel. Friends may call at the chapel one hour prior to the service.
