Leetonia BOE takes care of personnel matters

LEETONIA — Except for a few housekeeping issues and a lengthy executive session with no action Wednesday afternoon, the Leetonia school board held a relatively uneventful meeting.

In addition to modifying Brad Kaztzman’s contract for the current school year to recognize his current Step 3 status, board members also modified substitute field trip drivers’ wage per the union contract, granted Peggie Courtwright five days of unpaid leave of absence, and approved Guy Costello and Shannon Magmore for medical leave of absences.

John McIlduff was appointed junior high fall and winter game manager, while Alexis Seman will serve as head coach for the district’s cross country team.

Dawn Cox was added to the district’s substitute van driver list pending satisfactory background check.

Members also approved payment to the parents of Abel Day, Abigail Day and Aiden Day as well as Grayson Wagner for transport to Heartland Christian School during last school year, as Treasurer Jennifer Coldsnow explained they had been left off the list provided, so never received the payments.

Board members also approved:

— The agreement between the school district and Summit Education Service Center Governing Board

— Bumping up adult lunch prices to $3.75 for the upcoming school year.

— The agreement between the school districting the Columbiana County Board of Developmental Disabilities for the upcoming school year.

Board members, Superintendent Tony Delboccio and Coldsnow held an executive session near the conclusion of the meeting for the purpose of considering the compensation of a public employee.

The board’s next meeting will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23 in the high school media center.

Starting at $2.99/week.
