Halloween events planned in East Palestine

EAST PALESTINE — The Village of East Palestine is getting into the Halloween spirit with community events planned through the month.

This Saturday, a Monster Movie Night will be held at 7 p.m. at the East Palestine Town Square. The show is set to begin at 8 p.m.

Organizers invite the community to come out “for a spooktacular evening under the moon” as they “bring back the original monster of all movies, Frankenstein (1931).”

The event includes a pre-carved jack-o-lantern contest and a screening of the classic horror film at 8 p.m.

Monster Movie Night was organized by East Palestine Councilman Lenny Glavan and Greg McCormick and is sponsored by CSI Environmental.

Movie-goers are asked to bring blankets and chairs.

The East Palestine Fire Department and Firefighters Association will hold its annual Fall Fest from 4 to 10 p.m. on Oct. 26 at the Brick Pavilion in the East Palestine Park.

“The festival will include but is not limited to trunk-or-treat, hayrides, bonfire and s’mores, movie, free hot dogs and chips, hot chocolate, a ‘witch’s dance’ and a costume contest,” organizers said via a social media post. “We look forward to seeing everyone there for another great year.”

Commemorative Fall Fest apparel can be purchased online at 2024fallfestival.itemorder.com for local delivery or to be picked up at the festival.

Starting at $2.99/week.
