Murder case arising from missing girl postponed again

YOUNGSTOWN — Once again, the murder trial of Robert L. Moore has been postponed.

Jury selection was happening Tuesday morning, but the defense and prosecution were unable to pick a jury, so the case is now set for Jan. 13, court officials said.

Picking a jury has been one of the problems in the case in the past, as have issues with unavailability of witnesses and illness. Juror misconduct also was a reason for a prior delay.

The case is before Mahoning County Common Pleas Court Judge Maureen Sweeney. Moore, 54, is charged in the 2009 disappearance and presumed murder of 16-year-old Glenna J. White, who disappeared from a home in Smith Township and has never been located.

Starting at $2.99/week.
