Midland-Fredericktown Road to close for 12 weeks for slip repair

ST. CLAIR TOWNSHIP — During Monday’s meeting of the St. Clair Township Board of Trustees, the trustees discussed an update on the Midland-Fredericktown Road slip repair project.

Trustee James Sabatini noted that due to issues with getting asphalt in the winter, the preliminary work on the road will begin in January and take approximately 12 weeks to complete. The road will be closed to traffic during that period. Trustees will discuss details such as the date for beginning and completion of the project at their next meeting on Dec. 16.

The trustees approved with unanimous votes two candidates, Scott Haws and Amy Richard, for the OTARMA Board of Directors for term beginning in 2025 and ending in 2029 and to approve the estimate provided by Protech Contracting, East Liverpool in the amount of $8,260 to upgrade the interior lighting to LED lights in the road garage.

The township has $3,059 in grant money to apply toward the cost of the lights, which will save 25% once installed due to them being energy efficient.

Blanket certificates in the amount of $1,755; purchase orders in the amount of $14,817 and bills totaling $76,417.77 were approved for payment.

Township offices will be closed on Dec. 25 in observance of Christmas and Jan. 1 in observance of New Year’s Day.

The St. Clair Township Board of Trustees meet every other Monday at 4 p.m. in the township administration building. The next regular meeting is scheduled for Dec. 16. The board of trustees reorganizational meeting is scheduled for Dec. 30.

Starting at $2.99/week.
