Salem Christmas Parade set

SALEM — The annual Salem Christmas Parade will usher in the holiday season Thursday.

This year’s parade will begin at 6:30 p.m. with the theme “Christmas in Toyland.” As always, floats will be judged on appearance, originality/creativity, costuming and use of theme in three categories — commercial, non-profit, and religious — with awards presented for each category.

This year’s parade route begins at the intersection of South Union Avenue and State Street and will proceed west on State through the downtown to Ellsworth Avenue where it will proceed north concluding at Second Street.

Anyone interested in participating in this year’s parade should contact the chamber by phone at 330-337-3473, or by email at info@salemohiochamber.org.

The annual light up night will immediately follow the parade at city hall and the public is invited to attend and enjoy the annual city tree lighting, Christmas carols, and a meet and greet with Santa Claus himself.

Starting at $2.99/week.
