Lisbon Church of the Nazarene
Lisbon Church of the Nazarene will host a Revival featuring Pastor Rich Swaggart at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday, April 6, and 6 p.m. April 7 through 9. The community is welcome to attend.
Friends of the Wellsville Library
The Friends of the Wellsville Library group is hosting an open house to inform the community of the activities and programs to which the Friends support. The open house is being held on Wednesday, April 3, at 5 p.m. in the MacLean Activity Room in the Wellsville Library. Banquet in Salem Monday
Friends of the Banquet will sponsor the Dine In or Drive Thru Banquet in Salem from 5 p.m. until the food is gone Monday at the Salem Memorial Building. The menu will include sloppy joes, scalloped potatoes, green beans, applesauce, fresh vegetables and fruits, and cookies. Dine in will park in designated area and proceed to front door. Drive thru will line up behind the building; one meal per individual in the vehicle. No parking in library lot. Barn Quilt2 Contest
Interest generated by the 2024 Barn Quilt Contest at the Columbiana County fairgrounds has resulted in a Barn Quilt2 Contest being added for this year’s fair. Exhibitors will be required to provide their own 24-inch square plywood quilt board (maximum of three entries per exhibitor). Entry information (name, address and contact number) should be provided no later than July 10. Entries will be accepted in the Arts & Craft building on Saturday, July 19 from noon to 5 p.m. Winners will be announced on July 25. All entries will be on display in the building the week of this year’s fair. Cash prizes will be awarded from first place to fifth. The event is sponsored by John’s Outdoor Power Equipment of Salem. Beaver Creek activities
The following activities will take place at the Beaver Creek Wildlife Education Center in April:
— Saturday, April 5 from 9 a.m. to noon, Fly Tying (Registration required). Join Chip Hudson in the Wildlife Center classroom and learn how use flies to catch more fish. Registration is required and class size is limited to 15. Suitable for ages 10 and older. All supplies provided. Cost is $15 per person. Participants will have some flies to take home. Register by sending contact information to beavercreekw@aol.com. Register by March 29.
— Saturday, April 19 from 9 to 11 a.m., Spring Wildflower Hike. Join BCWEC volunteers Cheryl Mattevi and Eileen Dray-Bardon as they welcome early spring wildflowers and wildlife. There is always something new and exciting in bloom in the Beaver Creek forests and hills. The trail ranges from gentle to moderately steep and may be muddy. Dress for the weather, wear sturdy shoes, and bring a walking stick so choosing. The hike will be canceled if there is a downpour. Meet in the Beaver Creek State Park parking lot, 12021 Echo Dell Road, East Liverpool, OH 43920.
— Saturday, April 26 from 6 to 9 p.m., Wine and Wildlife (invitation/registrations required). Join the wildlife center for its annual benefit event, featuring a tour of the building and displays, grounds and gardens, as well as a variety of hors d’oeuvres, desserts, and Ohio wines.
