Dukes rally past Rebels

COLUMBIANA — The high winds, warm temperatures and sunshine didn’t line up for a Crestview win on Friday against Marlington.
The Dukes scored five runs in the seventh to take a 9-5 win.
Dylan Heatherington went 3-for-4 for the Dukes.
Luke Julian had a single and double for the Rebels. Wyatt Ervin had a double.
Isaac Unkefer took the loss with five strikeouts and two walks in six innings.
Crestview is 2-6 and will host Champion on Monday.

West Branch 15, Columbiana 3
COLUMBIANA — Eleven West Branch players scored as the Warriors routed Columbiana, 15-3, in six innings Friday.
Jeremiah Thomas led the charge by going 3-for-3 with a double, two walks, two stolen bases and three runs scored. Evan Springer and Anthony Perry each scored two runs and drove in another.
The Warriors scored in each of the first four inning to take a 11-0 lead.
Trevor Minich was the winning pitcher, giving up one earned run on six hits with eight strikeouts and one walk in six innings.
Ethan Lehnerd took the loss, giving up six runs, all earned, on three hits in three innings. He struck out three and walked four.
William Bucci went 2-for-2 for the Clippers (5-8). Max Conway added a double.
West Branch evens its record to 5-5 heading into Tuesday’s game at Alliance.

Mathews 4, East Palestine 3
VIENNA — Mathews scored four runs in the first inning and beat East Palestine, 4-3, Friday.
Cale Moraski singled twice and Brad Bartels drove in two runs for the Bulldogs (8-3).
Buckeye 3, Beaver 2
RAYLAND — Buckeye Local scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth to come away with a 3-2 over Beaver Local on Friday.
Beaver Local (1-9) had led all the way up until the sixth.
Braxton Hickman and Matt Anderson each had a double for the Beavers.
Braxton Hickman took the loss with five strikeouts and two walks in 5 2/3 innings.
Beaver Local hosts Oak Glen Tuesday.

WELLSBURG, W.Va. — Elliot Fitch had a single and double for the East Liverpool in an 11-1 loss to Brooke on Friday.
Donovan Shallcross had a strikeout and four walks in 5 2/3 innings.
East Liverpool (1-10) hosts Brooke on Monday.
